WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random extra substat is also added to every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the item upgrader mod level, but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players from item level upgrade upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will show a preview of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers.
