WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item upgrades level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current Best item upgrade level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Item upgraders can be found in many places including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to use them wisely. For instance it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan on making. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
