The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt, pet hair, and poop effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is helpful when getting into tight corners or along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger debris like broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It doesn't produce as loud of a sound while vacuuming or mopping and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to set up and performs well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum to mop you must pay attention to this.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it comes with some distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock which doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning and a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.

The base comes with a few control buttons that let you manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path. It will stay clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise in finding objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally get caught up in obstacles, like the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't come with an "stuck" status alert on its application.

Another possible issue is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad however, mopping pads don't get washed or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing sight in a space which is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
