WoW Upgrades - The Item Level Upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display the preview of an item upgrading's next upgrade level, in the event that there are enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Many locations have upgraders for their items in addition to the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Crests

This change is intended to allow players to get their gear up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another important modification is that crests have one usage therefore it's essential to use them properly. For instance, it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrader equipment available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to make.
