WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The Item Level Upgrade upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which displays an image of the item at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to the same level will be less expensive, even when they belong to an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an Best item upgrade that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item upgrades level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they only have one use. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with top-quality gear.
