WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item upgrades level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item upgrade used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool with the help of button, which will display an image of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the Item level upgrade (telegra.ph) and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Crests

Players can earn crests through working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, once an item upgrades reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top gear you have available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, that will be able to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
