UPVC Replacement Door Handles

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently than lever handles on doors. These handle types can either use a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two offset or inline spindles (pad). They are commonly employed on UPVC doors with double glazing and come in a variety of finishes & variations.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes including white window handles chrome, and Gold. The finish is in line with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, which gives the handle a high degree of durability and performance for the intended use.

All of the UPVC lever pad styles for handles are supplied with a spindle and screws that allow them to be put on a new or existing uPVC door. They operate by using a key that unlock a cylinder case which is then revealed with pins that can be aligned with the pins in the lock body and allow them to rotate an revolving cam, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors generally having different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is vitally important; this is contingent on how your door and handle are used. External doors, for example should be equipped with higher security cylinders and doors inside can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. Some cylinders have extra features that can improve security, for instance, anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it must be measured correctly. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, if there is one. It is best to do this while the lock is in place however, if this is not feasible, you can take it off and remove it to measure. A cylinder that extends beyond the handle and escutcheon may be vulnerable to attacks such as snapping locks, so it is essential to make sure it's not too long.

The majority of modern cylinders have been constructed with bump and anti-drill features included in their design. They are designed to minimize attack chances by forcing the cylinders to rotate in a different direction. This will help to deflect an attack and ensure your door is secure.

Some cylinders are designed to resist snapping. Spring Cassette

This spring cassette sits inside the base of your door handle's backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their normal position after using. The addition of this simple element is among the most effective ways to fix this and it is also a great way to prevent your upvc doors from getting stuck in the open or closed position, as these aren't always easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were designed to be used with a spring multipoint locks.
