However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology and is therefore prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of an area.

It's still a good value, especially if your office or home has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combo uses advanced sensor technology to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can alter the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones using the app that is well-designed. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to pull back and extend its mop. This can help avoid cross-contamination. 3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the boxy units this robot cleaner vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering an easy mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and fills up the water tank, and cleans and dries mop pads.

The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive rivals. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

For bigger homes it's recommended to choose models with spot or zone cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a specific area of your home via the app or via voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. For families that are busy recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off can be very beneficial.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than the price suggests. It is a good automatic vacuum and mop cleaner, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that vacuum and mop that we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that is washable.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate a mapping run, which gathers information on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or to create a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for hair of pets. You can also organize a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean the area.
